At present we only deliver within a 30-mile radius from our Chertsey Cakery & Café. If your order is out of our coverage area, please contact us as we may be able to fulfil large orders further afield which will incur additional costs.  The cost of delivery is determined by several factors, including distance, congestions, ULEZ, mileage, and time.

WHAT ARE YOUR DELIVERY TIMES?

Monday - Friday: 8am - 12pm & 12pm - 4pm
Saturday: 8am-12pm
Sunday: Closed.

We will make every effort to deliver the goods by the delivery time specified, but delivery times are not guaranteed. If delivery is delayed for any reason beyond our reasonable control, the delivery date will be extended for a reasonable period, and we will contact you to arrange an alternate time.

DO YOU DELIVER INTO LONDON?

Sure, we do! ULEZ and congestion charge are factored into shipping cost and calculated at checkout on our website.

CAN I REQUEST A GUARANTEED TIME FOR MY CAKE DELIVERY?

Unfortunately, we do not provide a guaranteed timed delivery service as part of our standard delivery costs.

If you need the cake for a certain time, we recommend ordering it the day before. If you are unable to accept delivery the day before, we offer a very limited number of Priority Delivery slots at a higher fee starting at an extra £25; please contact us for more information.

HOW MUCH IS DELIVERY?

Delivery cost is calculated at checkout depending on postcode.

WHAT IF I HAVE MISSED DELIVERY OR THE RECIPIENT WASN’T IN?

Our delivery fee covers one delivery attempt only. Any missed delivery will incur an extra cost. If you require it to be redelivered the same day, we may be able to re-deliver at a cost starting from £25. You are also welcomed to collect your cake from us, please see collection options here. We cannot be held liable for missed deliveries.

CAN MY CAKE BE DELIVERED TO MY HOME, WORK OR A VENUE?

You can choose to have your cake delivered to anywhere, providing it is in our list of postcodes and they are willing to accept delivery on your behalf.

We require you to provide us with as much contact information as possible for venues, or recipients accepting your order. This can be entered in the “notes to baker” section before you add your cake to the shipping cart.

Cake Girl is not held responsible for any damage to your order after delivery.

I WANT TO CHANGE MY DELIVERY ADDRESS?

Any address changes require three working days' notice in writing. Please confirm your address details via email. Please keep in mind that they may incur additional charges based on your postcode.

If the delivery address is incorrect and we are not notified three working days before delivery, we may be unable to process the change and a re-delivery fee from £25 may apply.

Our hours of operation are

Sunday: Closed.

HOW DO I TRANSPORT MY CAKE?

Click here to see our care guide.

If you are driving, we strongly advise you to store your cake in the boot of your vehicle. This is a level surface. You can add extra security by wrapping a blanket around the base of the box. Please drive carefully, take corners slowly, and keep in mind that you have valuable handmade cargo on board!

We recommend delivery for larger cakes because they can be very heavy. We found that carrying the cake in its original box with both handsunderneath is the safest way. This will prevent pressure from being applied to the sides of the box, potentially damaging your cake.

We do not recommend taking public transportation with your cake.

Cake Girl is not held responsible for any damage to your order after transportation.

CAKE STORAGE

We recommend consuming your perfectly fresh cake within three days after it has been provided to you. If you intend to eat your cake on the day of delivery, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

If you intend to serve your cake the next day, keep it refrigerated, but for best results allow it to come to room temperature before serving. This takes approximately around two hours.

Your cake will also be perfectly safe to eat for up to 7 days if stored properly.

It is worth noting that some edible topping components such as doughnuts or topped fresh flowers, may only last a few days.

HOW DO I CUT MY CAKE

Please keep in mind that the cakes may contain internal supports such as cocktail sticks and dowels, which must be removed before serving. Please see our cutting cake guide here.

We bake with care and attention to detail, but because each cake is handcrafted from scratch, a piece of eggshell or fruit seeds, may occasionally find their way into our cakes.

FOOD ALLERGIES

We offer a variety of gluten-free sponge cakes and can also accommodate vegans; however, all our cakes are baked and decorated in an environment that contains nuts. Cakes may contain NUTS, MILK, EGGS, WHEAT, SOYA, GLUTEN, LUPIN, SESAME SEEDS, and SULPHUR DIOXIDE unless otherwise specified. On request, food allergy information is available. We are unable to accept responsibility for any incidents involving personal food allergies.

CAN YOU DO THE EXACT REPLICA OR A CAKE I FOUND ONLINE?

We cannot offer exact replicas as no two cakes are ever the same. We can however try to fulfil your design as close to your brief as possible but there will always be differences.
